in a competition where the goal is to be new original to the point of bare recognition. The Porsche car still looks like a Porsche lol.

I still don't understand how it looks the same. can you please tell me how it even looks close to one of porsche's current model.

What I love about the Porsche is that it is instantly recognizable. The more one looks, the more one sees the innovative details yet also the essence of the brand's design. No, it is not as far out as many of the others, but I'm not sure if that was the goal of the exhibit either.

mmk, the hood appears to come from a stock 911 with virtually no change in cutout shape or curvature. The front fenders give the traditional Porsche exaggerated look. The swooping back lower door line is also found from the 911. The windshield/roof of the car also seems very stock. I sure hope you are being sarcastic, because if you can't see any of these ties then I can finally see why Porsche fans think ultra minor face lifts that require continuously looking back and forth between models to notice are major redesigns. Actually... no I lied, I still don't understand why you think that way.

wow, the fender and hood looks similar, similar yes, but not the same, you got one thing right though, "exaggerated" That is what i think your argument is. seriously you pointed out like 5% of the cars details that happened to look like your so called stock look of a porsche.

I suppose it depends on how far into the future the student want to look.
The Porsche looks like a car they could put into production as the next facelifted 911/Cayman/Boxter/all-other-cars-Porsche-make-that-look-the-same.

But, does it look the same, I dont care about the future models, It does not look the same. I just dont like the critisizem of how people/kids say they look the same when they don't, I dont like how exaggerated people get with this stupid stereotype.

Ehh, I can do better... than some of those. Like the Porsche. And that Honda which looks like a running shoe.
August 5, 2008 2:56 am
I like how the Arrow doesn't even have axles and imagine the cuts the Honda can induce to unsuspecting pedestrians.
But basically I like the design ideas, Porsche not going all crazy on this is even good, you could perfectly imagine this to be the 2016 Cayman.

I vot for the VW, Audi, and Porsche. But the Porsche gets both my thumbs up. It looks feasable and it looks like it can actually go into production quite soon. But it really looks like a newer version of the Cayman more than anything else from the way I look at it.
Cheers!

Hi everyone!
Well the porsche is a porsche, defenetly.
The aim of the students should actually be to be as innovative as possible. With strongest focus on social context. The car industrie is on top of all, young designers are asked about their opinion of the future and are the seed of it. To watch degree shows is very important, more then to read today car magazines etc. Students put alot of thought into their projects while they are mostly dont appear as understansable as the cars we see nowadays on the roads. car design for students, is mostly a very complex visual communication NOT a pure styling as it gets later in the indutrie. Young designers are full of hope and power to change_ So look twice, and think deeper.

@Gumball
The key sentences here are:
(joe_limon) --} The Porsche car still looks like a Porsche
(DanaJ) --} What I love about the Porsche is that it is instantly recognizable
(DanaJ) --} the essence of the brand's design
So nobody, except you, mentioned something which should imply it looks the same. Never, never ever, never ever ever

Did I say the car looks exactly the same no? Cause I would have to be blind to believe that. I said it still looks like a Porsche, and that isn't very imaginative.
