As the Ferrari California heads into the final stages of development prior to its public unveiling in Paris this October, engineers are keen to keep the new model taped despite its recent media unveiling.

Seen here in the famous shade of blue Ferrari calls, Azzurro California, these are some the first “real life” photos of the California taken on the autostrada just outside of Modena.

Big thanks to David for submitting the pics!

Thats not camo, its the way new car are delivered, isnt it? To stop the paint from chipping etc. (thats why its at the front and sides, not at the rear) Meh, still looks like ass, the roof looks nice tho...hate the lights, hate the exhausts:(

You could be right but, the protective plastic is located in wierd locations. Rear truck for instance. And if it out for delivery would that not have it on the back of a truck.

All of the "camo" is placed on places where rocks would fall and potentially chip the paint (behind the front/rear wheels, the side of the doors, so that when opened, they dont scratch, front so that rocks from cars in front dont chip the paint as well) If u look closely, the trunk is protected only on the Ferrari badge, again, in order to protect it. As for why its not on a truck bed, whell as far as I know, all new Ferraris come with 10(?)km on the engine, cuz all of them are tested out around the factory. This being a GT, I would assume the test drivers would take each car on a highway, hence why its where it is, looking like it is:)

this is NOT the first sighting, I took several pics of it ten days ago in Maranello and posted them on another site. I cannot say which site, otherwise my post would be deleted.

I should not have viewed this car while eating my lunch. Now I feel sick...oof! I was fine until seeing this bollux of a Ferrari.

They should lower the price to 50.000 EURO. Then I might be tempted to test drive it.

you cant judge it by its looks, even though I dislike ferrari, even if its ugly its still a beast under the cover, look at the lambo miura that doesn't look sweet but hey its a legendary car.

the rear lights look different to the earlier shots, is that the reversing/indicators in grey? Those grey lights make it look like a Ferrari on top of an old shape Lancia Y or Jag S Type, can anyone see it?
