World's number 1 VW tuner, Abt Sportsline, has turned their sites onto one of the newst VW models, the Passat CC. Following the four-door coupe design pioneered by the Mercedes CLS-Class, the Passat CC, which stands for “Comfort Coupe,” doesn't necessarily have to go down the same road for elegance and luxury buyers. Hans-Jürgen Abt. The managing director of ABT Sportsline states, “But who says that a Comfort Coupé mustn’t be sporty?”
As a result, the Kempten-based tuning firm offers off-the-shelf suspension springs and ABT Power packages for the 1.8 TSI's standard 160hp (118kW) bumped up to 200hp (147kW). The 2.0 TSI enjoys similar treatment up to 240hp (177kW). Abt states a power package will soon be available for the two 2.0-TDI engines delivering 190 or 170hp (140/124kW) instead of the serial 170 and 140hp respectively (125/103kW).
Unfortunately, Abt is unable to show us a teaser draft of their aerodynamic kit for the Passat CC, but rest assured, they're working on it. In the mean time, you'll have to settle for Abt's AR and BR wheel which are both available in sizes 18 to 20 inch. “It is of course a matter of taste which wheel the client prefers, but, personally, I think that the BR wheel with its corresponding spoke pairs suits the CC particularly well,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt.
Stay tuned as images of the aerodynamic kit will be published as soon as they become available.
