Wow, the U.K. sure is lucky. The decals are tasteful and nice...but they don't go as its actually a Cayman S sport. So they should drop the R and leave it as is. Also that way Carerra RS owners don't really mind either, decals being different and such.

Thats because its supposed to boost the sales of the current Cayman before the facelift. "while also attempting to boost last Cayman sales prior to the arrival of the facelifted Cayman."

why would they get an earful from RS owners? they would probably buy a Cayman RS if it were available.

Thats what i would think. A carerra GT3 RS is more than just better suspension and a few extra horsepower. So they'ld still have a reason for owning a GT3 RS.
