Well, at least it doesn't get the standard GM radio unit... it's a cool car...

I like the car but the interior needs some work. for example the gauges are too low. should have been more eye level.

Looks like they tried to stay true to the concept even in regards to the interior. The same cannot be said though for lack of inspired interior of the Dodge Challenger.

"Unlike the rest of the new age American muscle cars, the Camaro is expected to handle well"
What about the Challenger? Jay Leno seems to put it on par with benzes.
July 18, 2008 7:06 pm
Yea, Joe, from what ive read by MotorTrend, the Challenger had very good handling. The writer here is straight up wrong.

Well Joe..since the Challenger is on the 300C chassis, which is the the Mercedes W210 chassis, I can see how it is on par with benzes.

Yeah, the interior looks a lot better than on an average american car! I'd like to know how thirsty this thing is ;o

It took Chevy way too long to get this car to the production line. It should've been out years ago. Not to hinder it's appeal to the masses, but they need to do a better job of being competitive. I'm not a particular fan of muscle cars but I do love the 69' Camaro. With that car as the theme for which this car was designed, I gotta tip my hat to Chevy for capturing that essence in the final production version. Now, can it turn?

Pretty cool I must say. Better looking than the Challenger too. Nice job Chevy!

Yeah, pretty nice as expected, and the interior, eventhough harboring those obligated cheap hard plastics, looks infinitely better than the Challenger's.

I like it. I think the designers did a great job creating a modern interpretation of the old exterior. I never have been a fan of the interior but that's because I'm not into retro interiors. As long as the quality of the plastics has increased like it has on the other recent GM introductions I'm sure it will look fine in the flesh. Now they need to redesign the Cobalt with some similar styling so they will have a small vehicle people actually want that stacks up with the competition.

they won't need to bother changing the cobolt seeing it's going out of production within a year or so and will be replaced with the chase (I think that's how they spell it) which to me is a far better looking car.

Why does this site say this is the official unveiling? Its not going to be unveiled until Monday at 4PM.

it looks awesome, i agree better then the challanger. they really stayed true to the concept car. im proud of GM for not scrapping the cool retro interior for their usual bland ones. and im happy to see the didnt short the v6 on power i had read rumors of 270hp. i love it

i see they haven't changed the rear lights still... **sigh**...please i hope to see one ONLY in my rear view mirror :P!!!.. but i must say everything other than the rear including the interior are very nice. better than the challenger interior for sure.. BUT, i rather have a challenger for the exterior.

I think we should not expect more than this outcome from American makers, though they have deluted the original looks of the CAMARO concept.
