It seems AutoExpress.co.uk affiliated blog CarTribe.co.uk has emerged victorious in the quest to leak official press images of the Chevy Camaro production version. According to the Tribe, the Camaro will be available in LS, LT and full-on SS specs. However, the image of the front-end clearly shows an RS badge in the grille. Nonetheless, engines include a 296 hp 3.6-liter V6 and a 416hp 6.2-liter V8 engines with cylinder deactivation for added fuel economy.
Unlike the rest of the new age American muscle cars, the Camaro is expected to handle well, according to CarTribe, as it's equipped with an independent suspension all around and a StabiliTrak stability control. Brembo 4-piston calipers for the SS to slow down the 3,747 lbs. (1,700 kg) porker. Despite the huskiness, weight distribution is an even 52/48 front to rear, while the interior lighting gets the diode treatment.
The 2010 Chevy Camro is expected to arrive in U.S. dealerships in early 2009. The Tribe has spoken!

What about the Challenger? Jay Leno seems to put it on par with benzes.
-_-
Challenger anyone?
The 296hp 3.6 liter V6 is a higher reving, high output engine.
A high output small displacement DOHC V8 like the one in the new M3 would make the Camaro much more expensive. Fuel Economy will not improve, and the smaller V8 will have much less torque.
...its hard to compare the an Challenger SRT8 to the sporty V6 (RS) model in the photos. GM did a good job of making a very modern looking car while still retaining the look of the classic 60's Camaro. The new Dodge Challenger on the other hand looks like a Foose modified 70's Cgallenger.
I got bored of this car before it was released, they shouldve released it a long time ago.
