This is another attempt at trying to fill a production quota. So, we'll have the SLR, the 722, SLR Roadster, and now a Speedster? Yike, Mercedes...I admire your determination to sell a car that the wealthy apparently do not want.

If you remember, the SLR never met its original production quota which prompted Mercedes to release the 722 in an attempt to meet the original production numbers. Sadly, the 722 failed at that goal, hence the roadster. Now, with the world economy the way it is, it may be possible that the roadster will not reach its target as well. So, the speedster makes sense as the last effort to reach an overall production quota for the whole SLR series. How many ways can you present the same car?

As pretty and powerful as the SLR is i am driven to think "failure" when i look at the SLR. Im not saying its a dud but i think Benz could of upped the ante some more with a car in this class. It kinda just feel that it could of been so much better and that instead of just beating others in its class by a nudge it could of dominated. Roadster isnt gonna save the SLR, if i were them i would redirect the funds to making a better SLR that is closer to the clk-gtr.

an austin martin has more cache than the slr. it looks like an aging SL500, which I wouldn't buy on account it's been on the market since 2001.
the slr has amazing engineering but definately looks like an overpriced pre-certified Mercedes.
