Oh my, Lotus has totaly outdid itself with this design. It's a very simple design but it works incredibly well. There are some more intricate details along the lower half of the vehicle which help keep the eyes a little busy but, in all, it works. I'm looking forward to seeing how this machine behaves on the road but, if we are to use the previous offerings from this company as a guide, it should be brilliant.

"represents Lotus' first new model since the iconic Elise debuted in 1995." I thought the Europa S was the first new model after the Elise.

Europa is still a resurrected model from 60-70s.

The europa s is just an elise with more interior and different engine and of course different body panels

Looks alright from the angle that they shot car at, but I expected something diffrent. I was real interested in the car when the first images came on the web, but now I see nothing that makes want to stay interested. Maybe they should add some more shot and images of the real car and not rendered.

This should make for a nice group battle with BMW Z Coupe (next gen), Cayman, Audi TT 3.2 etc

I don't think this will be in the same price range. The Europa S for example is already priced like a Cayman.

Nice clean and simple shapes, but around 5 secs in 0-60 isn't impressive considering it's a 280PS sports car bearing the Lotus badge. Which probably means it's overloaded with comfort/luxury features...

Hopefully this model will earn lotus enough money so they can start producing their own engines again, fingers crossed the reincarnation of the Esprit will have a lotus developed v10 or v12. Maybe even a v8 as the eagle only has a v6 so would not cause a conflict in the product range.

They won't produce their own engines. It is too tough getting them homologated in key markets like the US. I saw many many pictures of this today in Autocar and to me it looked like a concept from the 90s. I am afraid I don't like it.
