The Lamborghini LP540-4 was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, it is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine and as the name suggest pumps out 560 ponies and features a 4WD Viscous Traction system. This is the sort of package that puts the it's big brother Murciélago under a lot of pressure to come out with something even more spectacular and Lambo tuning specialists IMSA are hardly doing it any favours.
IMSA have introduced a new sports exhaust system to the model which adds an even stronger melody to the engine and brings total power output to 584hp. The exterior modifications include a new set of lightweight alloys and sports suspension kit along with an aerodynamic enhancing carbon fibre rear wing.

@LP-owners: for god´s sake and my eyes, plz leave it as it is.
i usually hate aftermarket jobs but as far as they go, i think it looks pretty good...
All in the name of exclusivity. There's no doubt in my mind they can up the power past 600hp, naturally aspirated. Already I know there's been spotted in Montreal the IMSA Gallardo GTV whose blown V10 pumps out about 1000 hp. The problem is, it is pretty ugly, whereas this one isn't.
anything can be done to almost any car. BUT, cooling an engine with more and more power would be another story, and a much harder, especially when the engine is at the rear (you can add many scopes and stuff, but then we're messing with the design of the car and then it'll look ugly or even good). Also, the maintainance costs would sky rocket with the more power you add to the car. how does that 1000 hp gallardo look like??? many air intakes?? how does he manage to cool it?
I can't find any videos, but if you scroll down, it is the green Gallardo. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1888948 Tuning exotics completely disregards maintenance issues. Cooling isn't especially tricky, either. Adding beefed up fans, deeper rads, etc. is not outside the realm of possibility, and I think a 5.2 NA V10 is plenty capable of 600+ hp. It would make the Gallardo pretty reckonable.
No matter what they do to this thing it will never excite me like a Murciélago, Diablo, or even a Countach.
You mean all the V-12 powered Lamborghinis. Yeah, that's sorta the point. =P
I dont really care about the engine though. They could have been v8's with turbo chargers. I was referring to the looks. They were wider and look meaner.
Jeez. You would think factory lambo performance and styling would be good enough for most people. Great to know it can go faster but i think it was fine the way it was. When i look at these lambos i cant help but think Audi has more to do with these cars then they let on. Well at least this tuner didnt make a joke out of it by adding silly aero kits and such. Suppose if you have the money to spare in the first place then a tuning job for this car isnt so far fetched.
I just hope these aero aids do something about a funny problem with the LP560-4's design. Unlike the Ferrari F430, this Lambo's body generates significant lift at speed and, in this case, improving this vehicle's ability to attain or surpass it's already-high capabilities must be met with an aero package that addresses the lift this particular vehicle generates. If tuners disregard this, rather important style-over-function flaw, many owners will bear witness to what it means to be in a vehicle that's so fast it can fly.
