So, the fastest car on the planet gets an upgrade that makes it unusable at high speeds?
Wow, this makes the Veyron even more ridiculous and useless...

It isn't even the worlds fastest convertable... losing out to of all things, a porsche.

there are different types of hp, just like there are different types of tons

Joe's right. It's 987 Int'l HP, which is the same as 1001 metric HP. You'll have to forgive WCF journalists for being obtuse.

I think it's 1001PS and 987bhp. It's an easy way for manufacturers to exaggerate (slightly) a car's power output for unknowing customers. Look at the 'power meter' that the Veyron has - they can't lie there.

1001 PS = 1001 metric HP; but for the record, the actual HP rating (I've read) is higher -- about 1008 HP. They state it as 1001 HP for marketing reasons.

Eagle's Next Golf Club in Canada just held a Ferrri Club of America hosted Concourse D'Elegance on Thursday. They're such wonderful shows! If I had the money to blow, I wouldn't hesitate to go to Pebble Beach. This is almost a good enough reason to consider the trip!

What about they make a Baby Veyron ? Think a W-12 Twin Turbo, and looks similar to the Veyron but a bit "cheaper" looking and stuff. It would/could also make for a great track type car along the lines of the Enzo, Zonda , CGT and other supercars of that class/price.
