TVR Production Restarts - 2008 Sagaris Presented

TVR Production Restarts - 2008 Sagaris Presented
2008 TVR Sagaris

Announced this morning by TVR Managing Director, David Oxley, at an exclusive preview event held at the new TVR development works in Lancashire, England - TVR Production has resumed!

Upon the momentous occasion, which included invited members of the TVR Car Club, TVR staff presented the TVR Sagaris model year 2008. Exterior design has remained the same except for new 5 spoke wheels, while the interior receives a new center console with satellite navigation.

As promised back in 2006 by TVR owner, Nikolai Smolenski said "My intention is to expand the sales and distribution of TVR cars throughout Europe, the rest of the world and USA markets is a key part of the business strategy of the company." Built as a left hand drive model, the 2008 Sagaris confirms it will be exported internationally.

Preliminary pricing puts the 2008 TVR Sagaris just below 85.000 Euros.

Lets hope they fixed the bursting into flames thing that has happened on more than 1 car...

Damn, those wheels look badass! Oh, and so does the rest of the car.

is it my idea or the exhaust pipes used to be pointing sideways in the previous sagaris....

I like the uniqueness/destinctiveness of their designs (nothing else out there looks like it) but thats all I really know about TVR's, aside from the fact that the company is (was?) owned by a 26 year old billinaire (Russian... go fig). Is the price justified and is it worthy of having super car status? I just don't know enough about em to say but I'd like to hear more about customer satifaction and track record. Still, it would be nice owning the only car like it around (the gawk factor).

On second thought...Yikes! That interior is in some desperate need of refinement.

Hands down, while not the most successful, TVR is my favorite manufacturer. Its good to see they're gonna keep up and running.

Ohhh and leave the interior the way it is, the Sagaris weighs about 2400lbs with 360-400hp on tap...refined interior would equal more parts and more weight. If TVR makes a luxury GT coupe then a nicer interior would be needed.

I agree. It would be a shame if it got too fat. I definitely want one of these.

Rob- Since when are TVR's meant for refinement?

Not the entire car but just the interior; the fit and finish, the ergonomics if you will. I love the look of the car, but if I'm going to be spending that kind of money on a 21st century sports car, I'd be expecting a little more. I'm not saying spend more or add more either. I just get the impression that much thought wasn't give to the interior layout. And if it were a 'back to basics' philosophy then I'd just strip out the dash and center console altogether because they're really not needed and don't do anything to compliment it's look.

to me, this car is about driving, and minimalism, it doesnt have traction control or stability control, or anything like that. manual transmission, front engine rear wheel drive, light weight, 0-100 mph in 8 sec. I bet its fun to drive.

Only in Left hand drive? :-( glad it's back though... I hadn't heard anything about it returning before.

I'm more a silver or midnight blue person myself. My dad had a 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk. 2 in midnight blue. I really liked that car and still do.

Sounds crazy, but does the TVR come with a CD player? I always like to listen to music when I am driving.

I LOVE this car and have from the first instant I saw it several years ago. The first thing I'd do if I had the money would be racing to the nearest TVR dealership to purchase one. Thank goodness they're back in production. The Italians make pretty cars, but compared to the english, no contest.

Personally on British cars i like British Racing Green as a throwback to the old Le Mans and such races back in the day. However with TVR they have such an array of great, amazing, high quality paint colors to choose from. It doesnt matter what you buy, the cars gonna look gorgeous.

I truly wish TVR the best and REALLY hope they make it to the U.S. Give me something to save up for over the next 14-21 years for my retirement present to myself. :)

Keep wishing Firedog25. The closest thing to a TVR we'll be getting is a Ponty Solstice (Opel GT). Seeing this car makes me cry inside, that I live in the US with the worst on why cars are and are not allowed into the US. Cheers to you Brits for making this diamond of a car.
