900,000 sales since 2004 aint half bad for the Citroen C4 and now the French brand will look to maintain its success with a new upgraded model with a touch up of the exterior and interior styling along with a two new engines.

The exterior styling sees a more curvier look to it with a completely restyled front end to mimic the design of the all new C5. Some additional chrome accents, new body colors and new alloy wheels help complete the look, although it could be argued the final result ends in quite a conservative appearance lacking any sort of aggression.

The interior has not gone unnoticed by the Citroen designers, where it gets small updates to the upholstery with a new velour or leather options available and the rev-counter has been repositioned to the center of the dashboard display. Citroen has used the new C4 Facelift to introduce its new “MyWay” navigation system with a hi-res 7'' color screen, other technological enhancements include Bluetooth® and USB connectivity as well as an audio system with a built-in 10GB hard drive.

Under the hood Citroen replaces the 1.6i 16V and 2.0i 16V engines with two new engines co-developed with BMW. Both the petrol engines have a displacement of 1.6-liters, the first is a normally aspirated 120hp Vti with Variable valve lift and Timing Injection whilst the 150hp THP (Turbo High Pressure ) engine comes in at 150hp.

I am attempting to picture Citroen trying to feng shui their way into the North American market, and I can not. It is not for a lack of imagination, either -- in my mind's eye, I just keep seeing the stark contrast of the Mehari to anything else on the road, and there's no denying it would be the same situation, whether it be the Mehari, C4, et al.

I like the C4. Especially the 3-doors backdesign. I wish, more brands whould be brave like Citroën today or Renault few years ago

I like the car alot, it Pisses me off that Citroen cant or isn't sure if they want to come to Canada. Their cars would sell quite well here i think, especially given they build the type of cars, alotta buyers are looking for. Strangely theres no mention of the C4 motor that makes about 200~hp give or take.

Lets hope the people at Citroen have done something about the ride quality in the new facelifted C4. In Australia the 2 litre is (usually) sold with Boy racer style alloy wheels with expebsive to replace tyres and a choppy ride.

Its one thing going down to the shops for a pose or driving 20 miles on a crowded billiard table smooth freway - but when you have to drive on real roads for hours on end as we do in Australia, the magic of a lumpy ride wears off pretty quickly.

Quite frankly my 2000 Xsara rides better than the C4 - thats why I haven't bought a C$ (yet).
