BMW X6 Hybrid Spied

Hot on the heels of the BMW X6 M comes the latest set of spy shots of the hybrid version. We first spotted this prototype testing in February this year when it sported a massive power dome and judging by these latest shots the engineers are getting closer to production. The power dome appears almost non-existant now that the engineers can remove some of its testing equipment.
The hybrid powertrain will be based on a the two-mode hybrid system that was developed between BMW, Daimler and General Motors and will be further enhanced with a regenerated braking system. It is unclear which engine it will be coupled with at this stage, although sources state we should see an overall fuel economy reduction of 20%.
Launch of the X6 hybrid is expected sometime in 2009 as a 2010 model so we shouldn't have to wait too long before initial details are leaked released.

but the x6 is not really the car to bundle with a hybrid... too much weight, to costly base...
the 1er with the 120i as hybrid, or the 120d with hybrid, that would sell well!!!
