uhm. concept is a cool idea, but... the box shape just doesn't work. If you look at classic cars like the auburn boat tail speedster, they have amazing curves and are actually nice to look at. Maybe if this idea was tried again w/o trying to use landrover parts/design. A modern offroad speedster would be frickin sweet, esp if it had 1500 hp and awd.

this "thing" looks way too long. Therefore there might be trouble getting over hills or something?? comparing this to the H1 hummer for example. I mean, if this does in fact have 1500 hp, i'm pretty sure it can fly over the hill by simply flooring it from a distance but seriously :P cool ride though

Hi there - my name is Holger Kalvelage one of two founding fathers of the Bell Aurens Longnose idea. We are amazed about the reactions we get for our project. So many positive comments, so much interest and many, many good wishes. Reading your comments on the article above I would like to reply: The Longnose is based on the 109 Series Land Rover, thus it is not one inch longer than the original, inheriting all its offroad capability the 109 is worldwide renown for and much respected. The airplane engine version is just a showcar and not the core of the project. V8, V12 and V16 is the engine size we can offer with full road and offroad performance and street legal to German MOT standards, probably the most stringent in the world. The Longnose is not a Land Rover Series lookalike, it is a Land Rover from bonnet to tail. In our opinion a car Land Rover could and should have buildt 40 odd years ago. very cool very cool :D:D ohhh 109 series??? oh ok, yea it looked quite long at first glance with these pictures, and also because it said it can hold a V12 or even a V16 engine, i assumed the engine bay must be long enough to hold it there. But yea, good job and hopefully your project goes through :D:D

Funny that zorro , land rover Stopped making the series in 1977 and where exactly do you propose to get a new one? Or will you buy second hand? 1500 hp with leaf sprung chassis and no power steering , i mean come on . Even overfinch have trouble putting a bigger engines in the defender/range rover.
