read buddy... "The audiphiles among us will immediately spot the missing 'fin' underneath the headlamps while the rear is missing two of the horizontal fins. Further than that, the two larger exhaust pipes (instead of two double exhausts) and the side scoops have larger air-intakes for the necessary cooling of the engine." also... i'm pretty sure the ones that took the picture HAPPENED to look in the clear see through engine cover and NOTICE the two extra cylinders lol

wait... before they made the V10 version orrr after they made the V10 version?? what about the initial V8 version?? are you saying the R8 has no SOUL!? dude... they made it to remember the R8 lemans car and how many wins it brought the company... consecutively. by adding the quattro to all they're cars including this one shows "soul" as its remembering all the rally wins it brought the company. you my friend have confused me dearly lol what's your idea of a "soul" car is where i was getting at :P lol?

To me audi as a whole is souless, along with VW and the gallardo. The only lambo I like is the murcielago and o ya the Reventón

No, they definitely have soul, like the others said, second to none design quality, racing heritage, quattro etc, etc. I don't think you have ever sat in/driven one, but I have been in an R8, and it is excellent. Comfortable yet sporty and stylish. I've been in a Gallardo too, and I was really surprised at how much less headroom there is in that car, seeing as the R8 and Gallardo are very similar. The only car company that I really feel is soulless is Lexus. They don't have any definitive features in terms of design (except copying Mercedes), or any heritage behind them. They really are just a car in my opinion. Actually, just a Toyota, mutton dressed up as lamb as the saying goes.

i think _M7_ has a point. for all this is an amazing and extremely capable car, particularly in what will soon be V10 form, it just has to essence. first time i saw this in the metal it was sitting beside a murcielago and both were in black. for all it looks amazing in photos, you see this in the metal and its just a massive disappointment. the murcielago just looks the part and somehow (i doubt youd notice this if you havent been beside both of them at the same time) the lambo exudes essence and soul, while the R8 was just cold and clinical. superb car, but no feeling - like a nuclear power plant; enormous power and capability, but cold, sterile and heartless. sorry.

Well..I'm somehow dissapointed..i tought the V10 would get something more radical to be distingished from the V8 model, just like the V12 TDI, both in the interior and exterior..i could hardly tell the difference between the two in the road.

the r8 defo has lots of soul and style and drives amazingly, _M7_ have you seen one i the metal, because pictures just dont do it justice, the sound and the vision is awesome.

Every time I see one in the metal I am horribly let down. The car looks bland for a super car, and a brief glance in the engine bay leaves one wanting more. The engine by is like a painting with a huge frame and tons of white space between the frame and the painting. It hurts to see this car because it promises so much yet falls so far short of it's goal.

Audis have always been subtle and have understated styling....this has so much design and sophistication...Audi is probably the only brand that follows proper design rules and sticks with them. You don't see Gorgio Armani or boss suits in loud colours now do you?

what exactly are these design rules?? compare the r8 to the rest of the audi lineup.. it definitely is different and loud. ive seen n sat in one but still think it looks messy

i think audi knew what they were doing when it first came out! the fuel consumption is low the car can hold more if audi wants it to and still give enough to public with a very nice price range! i mean come on! if u had 100 grand or so.. it think this would be in your top 5 list and it does give good amount of performance!!! and it doesnt hurt to have good fuel eco! no matter how rich u are!

_M7_ might have a point there. Let me explain: The R8 is a one of the best cars on the road today, even though a 911 Carrera S will beat it in just about any performance test. The R8 has style and soul-a-plenty, but the fact is it has raised the standard, and compared to this standard, the V10 R8 does not deliver the looks! Sure, it has the V10 grunt, but on the outside, changes are minimal. Of course, it's in line with every other Audi high-performance version out there: subtle, yet capable but most people will never know the difference. Snobs beware!

The difference is at the back of the car. 'V10'in small stuck print. There could be an Rs version to distinguish it from the standard R8 and this one shown here.
