American television show personality and hardcore car enthusiast, Jay Leno, has taken delivery of his #4 unit off the production line 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 at a Californian dealership. Jay takes us on his journey of arriving at the dealership in his fully restored 1970's Challenger and receives a brief walk around from the Dodge Product Director – how nice.
During Jay's first drive, he compares the awful build quality of the 70's Challenger to today's example, and then goes on to compare it to German performance cars, “It handles very nicely. I would put this right up there with the German stuff.”

I'm glad Jay loves the American car so much, and the Challenger is pretty cool - but he seems to like to give his hits to the Germans without mentioning the true underpinnings of his LX-based SRT8. And he didnt think we'd noticed his camera crew's reflection in the Challenger? They're in a 2008 Mercedes C300 Sport. Traitors. Hehe
That was funny when Leno asked the man, will the cylinders shut down? The man said quikly no and changed the subject this car can do 1/4mile in... (F c k the fuel economy 13/18mpg = 18/13 l/100km :)
if you want fuel economy, dont get the 425hp srt8... go for the smaller 250hp version for half the price, your gonna get 25/28 mpg... if you want a fun car, your gonna have to pay for it.
at some points the c300 or whichever c i.e seems to be faster! ( esp when u hear sounds of the dodge revving! ) lol. but other than tat the challenger is a nice lookin car n jay is one lucky guy.
