Following the all-conquering performance of the Nissan GT-R it comes as little surprise the world is eager to see what the high(er)-performance V-spec model will be able to do and judging by the latest details that have recently surfaced we won't have long to wait. According to print magazine Car & Driver a preliminary version of the GT-R V-Spec (or Spec-V) will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September with sales to commence as soon as December for the Japanese market, we will probably have to wait until close to 2010 before it hits the European and North American markets.
The performance figures for the new model have been kept under wraps so far leaving all of us in the media having to rely on pure speculation. Initially a figure of 550hp has been suggested, although an unverified leaked brochure surfaced revealing it could be 512bhp and the carbon-fibre body will contribute to a 100kg reduced dry weight.
Further info to surface also reveals the GT-R is actually a loss maker for the Japanese manufacturer and not until they roll out more cars on the same platform (such as an Infiniti version) will the automaker see the balance sheet return to the black.

And what I meant by low fuel efficiency is a bit different here. I indeed understand that 20mpg would be impressive for you but at the same time you probably notice that this car can be used as everyday car like other civilised vehicle. Besides recent porsche has even expanded their 911's mpg to something like 25. The GT-R has a big 1st gear ratio that tends to cost smoothness of driving and to end up in lower oil efficiency in city driving. IMO this car could have been pricier than this though that would've only raised owner's dissatisfaction about GT-R's interior to the price.
