Ford has set a new benchmark in regards to safety for the Small Off-road 4x4 segment in Europe with a maximum 5 star rating for occupant protection, 4 star child occupant protection and 3 star rating for pedestrian protection. The result has been unprecedented in the segment and is largely credited to Ford's Intelligent Protection System (IPS), a combination of a high quality body structure, restraint equipment and driver aids.

"The Euro NCAP standard is held in high regard by our customers and competitors alike. The Ford Kuga has performed consistently in each of the three categories Adult Occupant-, Child Protection and Pedestrian Protection that comprise the Euro NCAP tests," said Gisbert Gaeb, Manager of Analytical Attributes at Ford of Europe.

The all-wheel-drive off- and on-roader is powered by a 2.0 liter DuraTorq TDCi diesel engine producing about 136 hp. A Diesel Particular Filter keeps pollution to a minimum of 169 g/km of C02 emissions while the engine requires just 6.4 liter of diesel per 100 km in combined mode.

The Ford Kuga will go on sale in Europe this June.

Anything looks good when compared to what Ford serves up in America. that doesnt make this any better though. still looks crap and derivative. dont get me started on that oh soooooo interesting grille. yawn. plus watch EVERY euro Ford have the same lower grille shape for all its cars. it laready looks gigantically outta proportion on the KA! Ford does a Peugeot/Audi then? one design fits all.......

oh my lord... subjective criticism... there are plenty of people out there who like this, including me. the styling is awesome, not as bland as tiguan, not as ugly as crv, not as boring as rav4, etc... and it's called a design language, so non enthusiasts can easily spot a nice new ford on the road
