When Kia first introduced the 2-door Koup Concept in New York a few months ago, we were quite confused why Kia would simultaneously introduce a second coupe just after sister company Hyundai debuted the Genesis Coupe. Now Kia has released a teaser image which carries very similar design lines to the Koup Concept and one of the first things to notice is that the car has four doors. This leads us to believe that Kia had intended to make this car to be a four door version all along but showed it in coupe form to gauge reactions to the overall design direction.
According to TheCarBlogger.com, this successor to the Spectra will be renamed to Forte, however, it is unknown if Kia will retain the Spectra name for North America. The Forte is expected to make its public debut in August.
