Volvo V100 in the Works?
Based on VCC Concept
Back at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show Volvo presented the Versatility Concept Car (VCC), a design study that was used to demonstrate the Swedish automaker could make large cars for the premium market without any compromise in it´s core values of quality, safety and environment.
In the five years that has proceeded it, there has been little clues that Volvo would advance from the concept, but latest info surfacing from Swedish magazine Teknikens Värld claims that Volvo are indeed working on the production model with a possible unveiling in either 2010 or 2011.
The new model will slot in above the XC90 and S80 and Teknikens Värld have been good enough to do a nice rendering of what the finished product could possibly look like.

Whaly, luxury and power are not the direction that Volvo heads for. As safety and quality, two of Volvo's core values have already been catched up and even surpassed by many Germans and Japanese, the area where Volvo to take lead is environment. Then, this sort of whale is not the one which Volvo goes for. The area Volvo should put more effort is hybrid/EV that appeared at Tokyo Motor Show last year.

The current trend is to build smaller cars, what's wrong with Volvo? The manufacturers should calculate the costs for developing cars with no future.

The E-Class and A6 estates are 4.90 meters long, and the V70 4.82 meters. What cars would a V100 compete against?
