Top Gear gets most car enthusiast's hearts racing, and has been doing so ever since they started with the series in 1977. Needless to say that the world is glad that Jeremy, James, Richard, The Stig and cohorts didn't call it quits a few seasons ago, since they originally planned to stop when they reached their peak after the relaunch in 2002 but we can assure them that their peak is still to come.
Maybe season eleven will be that peak? The Top Gear team had a brainstorm session and have been kind enough to reveal a few of their ideas. First the bad news, the big films will be shorter but will feature more punk rock. There will be a German Top Gear episode with the return of Sabine and the Audi RS6 versus a suicidal skier. The 'usual' Top Gear face-offs like the EVO X versus the Impreza and a big film where a mega car will take on a mega opponent in Japan. Mega Jeremy vs Godzilla anyone?
Good news for the US too, (Top) Gear may not have been as cancelled as most thought. NBC has returned a short description back onto its pages and a few stubborn rumors surfaced about the Gear pilot episode. This pilot has probably been shot at the El Toro airfield in California, but NBC is still quiet on the topic.
So what else will Top Gear bring this season? How about a face-off between the Koenigsegg CCX and three (yes THREE) Bugatti Veyron's in the deserts around Abu Dhabi. The whole thing came about at a photo shoot which turned into a filming when Top Gear magazine asked for a donor Veyron and were offered three models. What went on in this neck of the woods is unknown, so all we can do is wait patiently for season 11 to air.
