Development is well under way with the all new third generation Toyota Avensis. It has popped up on numerous occasions over the past few months, now comes the first video of it in full action at none other than WCF's favourite spy location – the Nurburgring in Germany.
Though the cars filmed are still packed with loads of camouflage, certain details such as the bigger head lamps and the taillights – split in two parts at the new models – are yet visible. Rumours suggest there will be a raised gearshift lever in the Avensis, inspired by the Auris, and a panorama roof for the estate which is said to be much sportier than today’s wagon.
At first there will be a range of petrol and diesel engines to choose from, but Toyota is planning to offer the new Avensis as a diesel-hybrid, too, and four-wheel-drive will be on the options list as well.
We expect to see the sedan model debut first either late this year of early next year with the estate to follow six months later.
