no... lol even if it did its 200,000 compared to 78,000 or so dollers for the GTR, bang for buck is where its at.
It definitely won't beat the V-spec :)

if this thing is over 200K, 911 Turbo, GTR, or LP540 will be my choice at this level.
Come on, with 200-250K USD, you can get a Nissan GTR(with markup) + Audi A8L....that kind of combo...
if I can get an Audi A8L W12/Maserati Quattroporte + GTR, why would I want a Lexus super car? plus Lexus has been pretty bad with sports cars...just look at IS-F

Most of you said is true. But i find no case of the IS-F being a bad car, its just that compared to its main rivals (M3,C63,RS4-all of which are good cars) it loses out due to their inexperience in making sports saloons.

GT2, Gallardo and 430 are on a VERY difernt leage froma a Vett. Also the GTR its a diferent specie, its a ingieneers car not a luxury, electronic too expensive car

people who buy ferrari's and lambo's these days are lottery winners and young dudes who have inherited their father or grandfathers hard earned money lol... seriously now, THIS is a very nice car. Its unique, its differant and it has a hell of a lot of power. if i had this kind of money, i'd definitely test this car out.

To 122: True, but if Lexus meant to market the IS-F in the same market as C63,M3,RS4, it will be compared to those cars, and it's not as good. But still, it's not that bad either, except for the exhaust pipes...that's kind of like a joke...

I don't think this car is bad, but not good enough for the super sports car market it's targeted, since Lexus is not even very experienced with regular sports cars. Corvettes are accepted for it's history, price, and performance. GTR too, long history, and super car performance for half of the price of a super car. Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini are very expensive but also very experienced with exotic cars, have great performance and well-known names.
But I honestly don't see anything in the LF-A like that to make it more acceptable to the consumers in that market. 200K + price tag, performance is not outstanding, and Lexus is not a great name in the exotic market either.... don't think it will sell that much...
May 22, 2008 3:18 am
what are u talking about?? performance not outstanding?? lol d00d this car is gonna beat the sh*t outta ferrari and lambo the moment it points its nose out, wanna bet?

@ nardo 12. you're obviously biased because this is a lexus. what the hell do you know about this car's performance. you see the future or something?

I think this will sell in the middle east like crazy ... because some here prefer the lexus bagde more than the euro- bagdes
but in my opinon .. I would go for somthing more german at that price ;X like the R8 ?

Yep, it will be a tricky sell. Lexus doesn't have a great reputation in 2 seat sports models - who even remembers the guppy faced SC430.
This car has been a long time coming. I am wondering whether it has some fantastic hybrid energy drive stuff in it which will make it unique and guarantee it sales to the wealthy green movement regardless of how rubbish it is?
May 22, 2008 6:29 am
oppps....totally forgot about that SC430 thing... too slow, to ugly... lol

I think it is handsome. However they can't jump in the arena with the likes of Lambo and Ferrari. Lexus is going up against public perception, most of which may or may not be correct I'm not an expert on that. but the perception is Europeans got the supercar market LOCKED DOWN. Most don't truly consider Lexus as a luxury car brand but more of a high end Toyota let alone a supercar?? I Think its great that they did this but I think they should've did a supra to compete with the GT-R now that would have been something!

really fine design and UNIQUE. i would choose this car over its competition for what it is, a car made from a brand with luxurious principals and shapened up to show performance. if its rumor of lapping the proving grounds to be what its claimed to be. it would rightfully worth more than the lambos and rival a ferrari.
May 23, 2008 8:13 pm
"A brand with luxurious principals", LOL, its just toyota out for every penny they can get their hands on. And you would buy this over a Lambo or Ferrari. Whatever, if you see a scirrocco though hide, cause the LF-A got beaten by both scirroccos. LOL their supercrapcar got beaten by a hatchback.
May 28, 2008 2:54 pm
great car - this is what I call the 'true' sports vehicle for toyota's Lexus luxury division.

Great coupe and cabrio concepts ready for production. However, I hope Lexus won't make the same mistake Honda made with the NSX when they priced it out of their target audience's reach?
I know their pricing strategy is to enable Toyota to revive their Supra model replacement, but surely ?57k/?60k would be feasible for the LF-A coupe and cabrio models respectively whilst ?45k price range would suit Supra? Anything considerably more and Lexus would fail to sell (Nissan R35 GT-R V-Spec ?53k).
Lexus should be seriously considering introductory pricing strategy (like Nissan's) as they have no exotic supercar history and heritage to rival the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW, Chrysler's Corvette, Ford's GT, Audi, Nissan and Honda.
It's a tall order as you can see so, the engine performance, dynamic ability, fit and finish, spec count better back up such lofty ambition!
