Creator of Panthera Concept Helps Bring Bizzarrini Back
Bizzarrini p538

Stefan Schulze designed p538

Most of you readers will remember the beautiful Panthera Concept, a car created by the German designer Stefan Schulze that could be built over Lamborghini Gallardo’s base. Even with this possibility, the car may never reach production, what is not the case for Schulze's last creation, the new Bizzarrini p538.

About to be presented, in June, at Nardo, the new supercar is the result of a joint effort from Schulze, Alan Mertens, from Galmer Engineering, Arbitrage Cars and, of course, Giotto Bizzarrini, the creator of the original p538, in 1967. The intention the people involved in the project have is to produce it in limited numbers, reviving the Italian brand in the right way, something previous projects, like the 1998 Kjara and the 2005 GT Strada 4.1.

The new Bizzarrini may have what it takes to get the brand back to business, such as desirability. After all, who would not want to control the wheel of a good looking car that will weigh about 800 kg and count on a LS7 V8 Corvette engine pumping out 505 bhp, placed in the middle of the car, for better balance? If you are not very fond of topless vehicles, there will also be a hardtop version of the p538. Hopefully soon, and, for Bizzarrini, successful enough to leverage future new vehicles.

I didn't like anything about the Panthera, but this makes more sense and looks good too. Bizzarrini doesn't have much of a name really, but it would be good to see this reach the streets.

It would've been better if it had a V12.

I agree, this car doesn't look as though it should have the v8 sound. A whinny v12 noise would be more suiting.
