Scion Announces Pricing For Limited Edition xD Release Series 1.0

Scion announced today that the third limited-production Scion for 2008, the xD Release Series 1.0 (xD RS 1.0), will be available at dealer showrooms beginning in June.

The 2008 xD RS 1.0 features Hot Lava exterior paint. This first limited edition xD will turn heads with a DAMD body kit, rear spoiler, Release Series wheel covers and TRD lowering springs. Inside, the xD RS 1.0 will feature Hot Lava accented seats and interior trim, and a RAZO Release Series shift knob. Like all Release Series vehicles, an individually numbered badge completes the uniqueness of this vehicle.

Only 2,000 units of the xD RS 1.0 will be built. The xD RS 1.0 model will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,999 over the base price of the xD. The manual transmission xD carries a base MSRP of $14,550, while the MSRP for the automatic transmission model is $15,350.

The delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee for all Scion models is $620 and is not included in the MSRP. DPH fees for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.

So is this a 1-litre engined car? Or does the 1.0 bit suggest it is the first release and shouldn't be touched until 1.1 is along with bug fixes?

No, it is a 1.8L - the same engine the corolla has. The 1.0 means that it is the first edition release series. They have been making the car for a while now, all the release series does is add accessories and special paint... you shouldn't worry about any bugs.

I don't know where you came up with the price for this release series but Germain Toyota said they were 17900.00 for an automatic. I love this car. I want this car, but I can't see paying 3 grand extra for a cool paint job.Very disappointing.

The price that they show also does not have the delivery, processing and handling fee (About $660). It is only $1,999 for the release series, and when you consider the body kit is about a grand, its really not that bad a deal. Especially considering the increased re-sale value of having 1 of only 2000...

Ya, we paid a little more for the paint, body kit, cool interior, lowering springs, and btw, I hava a nice set of lightly used rs-1 wheel covers.. 50 cents? Seriously, it's a fantastic and very fun little car - we get over 40 mpg on the hwy and I'm smiling every time I drive it.
