Nissan may be all hush hush on the topic, but Car Magazine managed to snap some pictures on their mobile phones of three Nissan plans for the near future. Lets start with the biggest one of them all, the Infiniti sports car destined to take on the likes of the BMW 1 series, Audi A3 and the Mercedes C Class. But since 'Infiniti is no BMW', as an insider has repeatedly told us, we do not expect yet another hatchback but a car with a long hood and a rearward cabin. The attached image is a silhouette of a design which is currently under consideration.
Second in line is the new Nissan 370Z, and yet another silhouette photo giving us just a basic outline of the new sports car. The new 370Z is the next generation 350Z but with the new 3.7 liter V6 engine also found in the Euro Infiniti FX 37. The 370Z will most likely be rear-wheel-driven and hopefully all-wheel steer just like some Infinitis. We are expecting a 2008 LA Auto Show world premiere for the new Nissan 370Z.
Last but not least is a silhouette image of the Nissan Cube project, of which we have seen an electric version at the recent NY Auto Show. The Cube, based on the Nissan-Renault B platform, has been confirmed for the global market and will most likely make an appearance later this year in Japan. The asymmetric Cube will be arriving in Europe and the US sometime in 2009 powered by both petrol and diesel engines. The promised electric engine option will not arrive until 2010.
