Yet another front engine ferrari..just like the 599 and the 612 which are crap.
May 6, 2008 10:38 pm
mate the 599 gtb is not crap at all its an awesome car and the 612 isnt great but is barely slower than f430 from standstill..

Bernardo, obviously you've never driven a 599 or 612 because they are so far from crap. Sure, they're not the top performing or edgiest of Ferrari's vast stable (past and present) but they are still wonderful machines to drive.
May 7, 2008 2:03 am
Err- I think he meant crap like when you compare them to their other cars (which I agree with completely. Plus they way too skinny). F430 is the best. Well the best that's still out, at least

I guees I didn't made myself clear, I meant "crap" by I looks. Both the 612 and the 599 IMHO looks really bad, for me, ferraris should have their engines on the back like the F430, and I'm dissapointed that they keep doing car with the engine of the front.Obviously I have never driven either the 612 or the 599, but I recon that they are good cars in the performance point of view.

bernardo, if you wanna have a back engined car - buy a porsche! ferrari stands for great granturismos with front engines - which are in fact behind the front axis - and gearbox on the back!

Joe_Limon - Hate to be the one pointing this out, cause obviously you haven't seen a car with camo on, cause if you did know what a car looks like with camo on, you wouldn't come up with a stupid remark like that.
May 7, 2008 2:15 am
I really don't understand that remark. What exactly are you pointing out? Seeing a car with slightly less camo on just let me know for sure that the next Ferrari isn't gonna be some ugly expensive hatchback. Did you know all along what the car is going to look like and find like to insult people like me who can't see under camo? Jebus your remark is confusing me the more I think of it, why is my remark stupid? why do you think I have never seen a car with camo on?

Well, its an irony to critisize front engines ferraris if you like ferraris because enzo ferrari certainly did not like the mid-rear engined ones. any ferrari purist will tell you that a 'real' ferrari's has the engine at the front.

its becoming a marketing trend now to intice people of their new model through exposing a little of the product with these covered test mules, so curiosity works. it also tells the potential buyers not to go elsewhere in that price segment an dto wait for their marque.

The front lights reminded me of the FIAT Coupe designed by Pininfarina back in the mid 90s!
That was a splendid car for a front wheel drive, labeled as the baby Ferrari too if i remember correctly.

So uhh, I saw the production model that is to debut later on and my reaction is that it is a true Ferrari by my standards (comparing that to cars like the Ferrari 'Millechili' concept and the ferrari P4/5 and the Ferrari 550-575M). In a very big way it will be base entirely off of the Maserati GranTurismo internals? something like that
May 7, 2008 5:43 am
oh and i forgot Ferrari is calling it the 'Ferrari California' for now of course. duh
May 7, 2008 5:47 am
well, i think, i might be the only one to say that, but tae a closer look, at the rear end, especially the roof. My call: it will be a hardtop coupe-cabrio, depending on high tail
May 7, 2008 9:30 am
It certainly looks better than any of the present front engined Ferrari's. At a mechanical level, it might be a return to those small turbocharged engines back in the day aimed at the Italian market in order to circumvent prohibitive taxes, such as the 208 GTB/GTS. Bella macchina en perspectiva, playing in La Dolce Vita!
May 7, 2008 2:42 pm
Annyway, this car ought to be a very good one, given its a baby Ferrari, i imagine there should be about 400hp on tap(maybe a bit more or less) and weigh about as much as an F430. Could be even more powerful/lighter if they choose to make a Challenge or Scuderia type version.
This is a smart move by Ferrari, offering a lower end model certainly wont mean them sacrificing their reputation, although they may want to think about making this one a bit more mass produced(only a bit).
May 7, 2008 3:26 pm
Why such beautiful car like that Ferrari's Fiorano feels crap to somebody?
May 7, 2008 3:48 pm
Because some people just have no idea what they're talking about bro...its a gorgeous car, everybody has different tastes, thats fine...but to call it crap, nooo way.
May 7, 2008 5:38 pm
it's a coupe not a hardtop convertible.
it has the same engin as the Maserati GranTurismo, same chasis, same engin, same everything except the design element of the car.
