Renault revealed the Megane Coupe Concept at the previous Geneva Motor Show which hinted at some of the design elements which are to be found on the new Renault Megane. The current Megane II, facelifted in 2006, is visually very extravagant and the third generation will be toned down considerably.

French car magazine Auto Plus has laid their hands on some photos of an undisguised Megane III, or so they make out in the magazine scans dug up in turn by Autoblog.com. The front grille and headlamps are completely new with hints of both the Laguna and Megane Coupe Concept which may be the start of a new design language for the French marque.

By the look of it there will be a three door coupe hatchback, five door hatchback and a sedan version while more variations like a convertible and estate remain question marks for now. How hot the hottest of these hatchbacks will get is not known but if we have the F1 Team R26 to go by then we can expect a 230 hp range topper.

Now that these images have surfaced it seems likely that the new Megane will make its world debut at this autumns Paris Motor Show.

3 door may look nice because it appears to have a grill, 5D looks stupid just like the laguna

the headlights look alot better on this model than on the laguna, i really like the crease around the bonnet. the 3 door looks very similar to the concept car which is an acheivement due to how wild that concept was. the interior looks like a massive improvement over the last gen the quality of plastics looks so much higher quality, almost vw and ford levels, but that is an early observation as these are very grainy low quality pics at the moment.

This Megane follows Laguna path, not their concept and what is strange, Renault loyal customers or people who never even look at the Renault as at a car, all they almost agree that the conceptual line of Renault already made a lot to win possible customers but production line and actual design policy seems to make everything to loose them and turn their own market to the perpetual dispersion of the problems.
