because the only people who buy Porsches, do so because they don't change the design. Why buy a car if it's going to look outdated in 3 years?

That's pretty much simplistic: us 911 fans value above all its boxer engine with unique character and sound + dynamics, an then comes the iconic shape of course. For lame club/boulevard posers there are many other, sometimes cheaper, flashier options.

Hahahaha. I totally agree with you ck314. I love Porsches because they're sexy and beautiful cars. 911 is a typical case of a design that never gets old.

i dont really like prosche... i dont know why but i just dont... it can be becuase all their cars look the same (exept cayenne)and there isnt really anything interesting in the design

yeah i agree all porsches look the same, and i don't like the design, except the carrera GT, it looks beautiful somehow. sure, the cayenne is even worse, why can't they make the rear end like the X6?

Its the eveolution of Porsche that makes them bad ass.. You are obviously not educated.. The turbo, c4-s, 911-S and regular 911 have many differences not to mention Porsche is one of the very few sport car companies that allows you to completely custom build and personlize your vehicle.. do your researach then post comments you air heads.. I wonder why Porsche has the highest resale valueyou in the sport car market? HMMMMMMMMM????

more horsepower, touch screen navigation, mp3 and blue tooth.. led lighting front and rear, and side.. large air intakes.. larger navigation screen, paddle shifting , dual cluth transmission, and more.. NOthing changed? it's not a "re-design" its a refresh thats it.. a total re-design will be a few years from now.. Doesnt need one.. and I wasnt reffering to everyone in this forum as "dumb ass air heads" just the ones who obviously already know they are.. the same people that think the mule photos of the Porsche Panamera are what it's really going to look like.. LOL

But a car that hasn't had a major style overhaul in over 40 years is just plain lazy. Also ck314, no one is saying it doesn't perform, or that it is hard to control. We are saying that the same thing for 40 years gets boring.

i agree with those who start getting bored at the 911. looked beautiful until the 90´s. since then it is the same style, just putting more and more weight on, till it looks like it is going to burst out. nothing compared to the new nissan GTR, pure styling, sportive looks, adrenaline pump. that one really makes my blood flow.... and yes, the cayenne is not even boring, it is just a clumsy design. chinese copies do better...

This is just a facelift. These aren't the new 911 designs so they are still the 997's. All I can say is that Porsche has kept their identity through 40 years. No other car can boast that while keeping their brand name at the top of the list of any car company in the world.

there is no need to make a 911 look like a GT-R or any other currently hyped car. steady improvements, keeping up tradition, the concept is perfect as it is. who will speak of the GT-R in 10 years? exactly, nobody!
all i can say about the 997 facelift and the 911 in general is: CLASS IS PERMANENT
