Alfa Romeo has vowed not to build more than 500 8C Competizione super cars, and only 41 of those will reach UK shores. Today marks the momentous occasion of the first of those 41 arriving at UK's largest and longest established dealeship Mangoletsi in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Manchester based architect Ian Simpson is the lucky owner of the GBP 138,500 rare super car. The Italian sports car is powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine producing 450 bhp and is hooked up to a six-speed F1-style paddle shift gearbox to the rear wheels. All this power is good for a 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 181 mph.
Ian Simpson has been waiting for his 8C since the concept was first displayed at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show and said, “This car is truly worth the wait. It’s everything a super car should be. It’s unmistakably beautiful, it has a distinct engine note and the high performance credentials place it firmly alongside the most exotic cars on the planet. I am delighted and proud to be the first customer in the country to experience this incredible car.”
