I wonder if this system will take off and be the next "must have" item on all cars or go the way of 4 wheel steering of a few years ago.

Wow, as if parking isn't slow enough...this is a good example of more useless technology, lot of respect for what they did just useless. There is a way to park your car better than this, its called practice driving

This has to be the first thing Germans copied from Japps. On the other hand Lexus's parking still needs drivers input so I guess Germans made it better. Isn't this something Japps are known for, copying Germans and making it better? Are you guys against technological progress? I see nothing wrong with this. We should have this in States on every car. Even with practice some people still can't park.

hmmm... i dont really know wat to think... if u could say park and then walk away and it parks itself that would b handy or 4 driving instructors to show learners how to park or in parking houses... otherwise it is just abit silly

Actually the germans invented the automatic parking. Volkswagen presented a concept car in 1989 called the "vw futura". The futura was the first car with an automatic parking system ever :P Due to the fact that the japanese are even worse than the germans in parking their cars, they kept the preassure high and brought it to the us market (only luxury segment)first.
