Their money would be better spent on lemans, looser restrictions that way any racing tech can be researched/adapted easier. The cars also look cooler but thats besides the point.

F1 is more interesting for the shenannigans off the track than on it. Check out the A1 series. Cars all pretty much the same gives some exciting races, plus there is is the nationalism factor, with some surprises on the podium. And Mosely should just go!

Pffff, how come BMW is spending money on F1? and we all know BMW makes less money than VW AG (excluding Porsche) ...

Hang on. Max Mosley is president of the FIA, which governs all motorsport, not just Formula 1. It they stuck to this then they wouldn't do ANY motor racing at all.

Wasn't there an idea a few years ago to start a new high end series that was based more on super cars than open wheels? Even an international version of the old CanAm series seems to make more sense to companies like Porsche than F1.
The LeMans series is weighted too much towards endurance to really showcase ultimate performance. It just seems like there is an opportunity for something else to become big. I'd love to see Porsche race Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bugatti, etc. in a major stakes, closed wheel series. Porsche competing against Renault, Toyota, Red Bull and Force India. I'm not knocking F1 or the skill of open wheel drivers. It just doesn't seem to be the right venue for any of the supercar makers except Ferrari.

haha yeah a race series where the only restrictions are the cars have to be in production/abailable to the public, and road legal.

Something like the FIA GT series you mean?

Aston Martin has been racing Maserati, Lamborghini, Mosler, Ferrari, Porsche and Corvettes at Silverstone today.

yes/no. Yes that is a good series where you can actually tell the vehicles apart when they have no paint on. And being road legal is good. But they are still a bit beyond reach. One can't simply order a C6.R, or a DBR9. I guess that is my biggest problem with the series, other then that its great.

*Porsche competing against Renault, Toyota, Red Bull and Force India in a battle of budgets is less interesting.

this whole things with Mosley, sounds strangely like the blow job, consenting adults monica an bill had, yet the US taxpayers were charged forty million dollars to investigate, kinda makes it hard to discern who really got screwed here LOL!

A rather weak excuse for Porsche... Somehow the Formula 1 has not "gone to the dogs" for reputable firms such as Ferrari, Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, BMW... I think Porsche is just too scarred they would have to face all that competition and appear - at least during the first years - in the end of classification :-))

Porsche or VW whatever should simply go prove to the world that they can roll with the worlds best - or rather they can continue winning their Le Mans races against the Puegeots or American cars. They do not even feature in any other competitive races i.e. Rally, nor the Paris Dakar Rally. They'd rather feature in races where the has been drivers partake - losers.
