Driving footage of the all new Volkswagen Scirocco is very much welcomed by the WorldCarFans newsroom. Hand-brake turns, playing chicken with cops and burn-outs are outright applauded! Throw in a helicopter and secret police (in high heels) and you have us shaking at the knees.
Its all there to promote the new Scirocco which is destined to go on sale late this summer for a starting price of Euro 21,750 (in Germany). All in all an affordable sports car which has finally returned after too long an absence, the original Scirocco ended production in 1992.
Initially four engines will be on offer, three petrol TSI's ranging from entry level 122 hp to the range topping 200hp with 280 Nm of torque. The diesel TDI produces 140 hp with 320 Nm of torque with the range's best fuel economy of 5.4 liters per 100 km.
