It's kind of funny, in an era of modern rounded cars. The biggest design statement to be found is the rear end of this car. Its a box, and it wants everyone to know that it is.

You'd actually notice the trend going from rounded back to more angular. And this car isn't like something you see every day. It's pretty unique and not bad at all.

I think they need to move this car farther apart from the Corvette its based on, giving the XLR a DOHC Northstar V8 and an optional Supercharged Northstar V8 was a good first step.
I wonder if its a good move to give the updated XLR an OHV Corvette V8?
...then again, it might be their only choice for a V8 engine.
About the V6 engines, the Direct Injection 3.6 liter V6 of the CTS only makes 304hp and 273 lb-ft of torque... I think that would be too weak for the XLR, not unless they come out with something like a twin-turbo V6.

There's plenty of upward potential in the V6 300-odd bhp is easy-peasy. And V8s are getting kinda irrelevant with oil heading for $200 a barrel.

The base 6-series has 36? hp. The base SL has 382hp. GM WILL NOT drop a V6 in the XLR, especially given how much it costs. Where is the educated speculation?

^ lol! They'd have made the wheels hexagons if they could, I'll bet.

Is it just me or does it seem like the roof is a bit higher than normal?

I don't know why they keep it under production ???? It's a loser car as same as any American car.

It just has to be painful to be that ignorant. It really must. That comment is just completely stupid and unnecessary. Why do you even comment on the American part of the site. Just stay on the German part if you don't have anything good or constructive to say.

I don't think he can comprehend what your saying gmfan... I think we need to stoop to his level before he will understand... here let me try. German cars lover, why would they keep making lame uninspired looking mercedes???? I mean they gots no defined edges, they are to heavy to be considered sporty, and the only people that look good in them are over the age of 60????
