Just after recent spy photos, FAW has revealed their Mazda6 based sedan at the Beijing Motor Show, the Besturn (also Bentung) B50. The B50 gets a 1.6-liter powerplant to start with a hybrid engine to follow later. Since FAW manufactures in China the Prius on behalf of Toyota, surely a hybrid engine will be a natural next step for China's first auto manufacturer.

it seems that the chinese only build cars to make cash. they have absolutly no sense for what a good car should be. there is no style, no perfection, no history, no passion. nothing. i can't see the engineer who love cars more than his wife - i can only see the greedy chinese businessman.

will it be available outside China? The Car seems to be interesting. FAW has much more experience then other chinese brands and with Mazda-basics it might be an quality alternative. I like the reardesign... ;)

This is just a start. Over time more serious and attractive stuff should follow. Remember Hyundai back in the 80s.

I think it is a handsome vehicle. if you compare this to some of the cars on the american market like say a chevy malibu sedan from 2006 then yeah they are off to a good start.
