Yawn.....If I was american I might give a damn about useless (for most who own them) utes/trucks.
shame Toyota can't make a great car.

this truck would never sell in america... those numbers are hideous to anybody that knows anything about trucks.

I want to just remind you that the AMERICAN icon Wrangler is always been below 190 Horse Power and also most of the other Legendary trucks around the world (90% below 190HP)- Such as Jeeps, Toyotas, Nissans, Land Rovers and many of the old Fords, Dodge and Chevys were below that HP number. If you are a true 4Wheeler you will understand this, but if you are one of those who thinks the more HP the better you will not understand a word from what I just mentioned, but if you did not understand, please study some 4WD books and you will.

I wouldn't really call jeeps trucks, they have no box. As to the old trucks... well duh every class of automobile used to have less horsepower... thats why whenever you modify old trucks for offroad use, you have to pump up the torque/power. And thanks my day is going wonderfully so far.

this is a segment below to the truck found in US. there is no point in comparing this to even a tundra, F150, silverado or what so ever found in US.....
This segment in altogether missing from US industry

I meant (all or most 4 Wheel Drives & Trucks), sorry :) JEEP also had Trucks in the past, and Great ones too, so the word Truck can also be said about JEEPs. I love all Toyotas, Land Rovers, Nissans, Jeeps, Dodge, Ford, Cheveys, GMCs, Suzukis and others also.

I don't understand some peoples comments on how 190hp and 430nm is useless to anyone who drives a ute/truck.
Those are fantastic numbers coming from a 3L T/D engine and just look at where the torque is available from peaking at 1600rpm now thats a truck engine and I bet it has great amounts off idle which is just what a real 4X4 needs. Toyota has always been good at giving 4X4 proper engines with oodles of torque at near idle.
It probably is too small for the US market but some of their utes are ridiculously big although I still wouldnt mind a F350 or a Tundra but the Hilux has allways been a great 4X4 and an excellent Ute. And remember what its not just the power the engine puts out its how it puts it out that counts.
