"2,843.4 miles per gallon" Thats amazing! But I'm afraid a Lamborghini Countach will do much better at 4 miles per gallon. ;-)

hahahahahaha. Oh man you are dense. They also use cellphones which are run by satellites launched by rockets that burned millions and millions of liters of fuel. The point of the competition is to get students interested in fuel economy rather then raw performance/power.

Motor sport events based on fuel economy? Novel idea! But you'll notice many of the components in these vehicles are essentially lifted from lightweight road bikes, which brings up a good point: Anybody capable of enduring a long, cramped trip in a tiny bubble whilst wearing an extremely stuffy flame retardant suit is probably also plenty capable of riding a bicycle. I am by no means trying to undermine the significance of this competition, but rather suggest reinforcing that other incredibly versatile alternative energy source -- the human body. That is 0.0 litres per 100 km (unless you count Gatorade).

haha you just gave me an interesting thought. If you do count gatorade... I doubt you could make it 2800 miles to the gallon.

lol! Another interesting thought: If you make a car that runs on Gatorade, I think you'd be up for a prize of some kind. =)
