Rolls Royce's Spirit of Ecstasy gets Encrusted in Diamonds
“Diamond after diamond” Rolls Royce's mascot, Spirit of Ecstasy, has never looked more opulent. Already made of sterling silver, this one off mascot according to Manhattan based jeweler, Jean Kemanjian, is encrusted in “150 carats of D color VVS1 quality diamonds and some fancy intense yellow diamonds on the wings." With a value of $200,000 the bejeweled flying lady was commissioned by luxury car dealership Manhattan Motorcars and put on display at the New York Auto Show just a few weeks ago.

Everyone needs to stop hating the rich for being rich.......better off spending the money in Africa on education.....sure.....i bet if you had millions you would spend it all on helping third world countries, perhaps any lotto winner should give all the winnings to cancer research so we could all benefit!! Alas that is not the way the world works pal.Personaly i think its a nice peice of Art/jewelry that no body will ever see.

a diamond Spirit of Ecstasy or a diamond decollete... where are the difference?

Imagine if you actually fitted that to a road car, easiest $200,000 someone ever made

Not so easy, you would have to steal it while the car is idling or moving as it retracts into the grill when the engine is turned off and has a pretty strong cap on it that closes over the hole.

ugly, pointless and kinda ostentatious. the diamonds just serve to ruin the traditional look of the spirit and seriously how noticable is it going to be. it's not something you can carry around.

ah, didn't realise it hid away- very clever. Well Rolls-Royce have thought of almost everything, that's why their cars are worth the 300,000 I guess. Does the Maybore have the same- I doubt it + it's symbol is just a Kenwood food processor stirrer
