Ok, I really like the way Nissans have been looking lately, but um... Does anyone else think this looks almost identical to the Mercedes M-Class? The Rogue and Murano are wonderfully unique looking automobiles (IMO) but this is almost as big of a ripoff as recent Chinese "designs". Good looking car, just not very original.

This is definitely Mercedes GL's little brother. Expect to see this car with 21's in the near future by a private owner :p

The Qashqai itself is supposed to compete with regular family cars such as the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and so on, as it is compact in size, not a full blown 4x4 adn offers space and practicality. The growing sales of Mini-MPVs ie. Renault Scenic, Citroen C4 Picasso etc. are full of family friendly features such as flexible seating, and it is this market that Nissan is targeting. This isn't made to compete with 4x4s, it's made as an alternative to Mini-MPVS.

Why do you keep talking with kilowatts?? Everyone uses horsepower, kW doesn't mean a thing for me..

Actually, kW is the 'official' unit. It is also used by most manufacturers internally. If you want to know in hp: just multiply the kW by about 1.36. That will give you a rough idea.

Who says it is "official"? Official for measuring the effectiveness of kettles perhaps, but car customers use bhp/CV/ps unless they actually believe Brussels is anything other than an anonymous city in a confused country.

Well, who says it's the SI, the international standard for base units: http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/units.html Go and check power, the official unit is W, watt. kW are 1000 Watts. Car customers do use bhp/CV/PS but I when publishing internationally, which to use? BHP, CV or PS? I recall that BHP arent the same as PS. If you want to go further on this, there's a simple but effective article on wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsepower Cheers
