Following the unveiling of Skoda's second-generation top-of-the-range Superb sedan at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, rumors have been circling about a possible Superb estate version. These latest spy photos, captured in northern Europe, suggest that Skoda is indeed working on an estate version to boost sales of the second-generation Superb.
Sources say that the Superb Estate, covered in Octavia disguise in these spy photos, will hit markets by spring 2010, nearly two years after the sedan, which goes on sale this summer. The Superb Estate range will be powered by petrol engines ranging from 140 hp (1.4-litre TSI) to 280 hp (3.6-litre V6) and diesel engines with power output ranging from 115 to 170 hp. The word has it that the Estate will be a 'true stunner' with some luxury features seen in other German premium brands.
Nonetheless, with the introduction of an estate version, the Superb will undoubtedly lose some of that "presidential flavor" of the first-generation Superb, which the Czech President Vaclav Klaus has frequently been seen travelling in.
