Continuing it's 60th anniversary celebrations, Holden will introduce three new special editon models of the VE Commodore, the sportier SS V Sedan and the Captiva with each featuring over AU$8,000 of extras. Each model gets a set of new alloy wheels with the VE Commodore and Captiva receiving 18inch while the sportier SS V Sedan will get a 10 spoke 20 inch set.

Highlights on the Commodore model include a full leather interior with a leather steering wheel and decorative moulding on instrument panel in micro silver. The VE Commodore SS V is rather uninspiring with chrome surround exterior door handles and 60th anniversary floor mats. The Captiva features a rear view camera as well as a new front fascia with new black bezel headlamps and silver premium painted skid plate & fog lamp inserts.

GM Holden has reinforced its commitment to value by introducing the VE Commodore 60th Anniversary Special Edition comprising $8,000 of extra value including rear parking sensors and leather seat inserts.

Joining the Special Edition Commodore is the sportier VE SS V 60th Anniversary Special Edition featuring 10-spoke wheels, interior and exterior upgrades and special 60th anniversary floor mats and rear badge.

Holden Drives Safety with Captiva 60th Anniversary Special Edition

GM Holden continues its anniversary celebrations by introducing the Captiva 60th Anniversary Special Edition including a rear view camera, adding even greater safety and value to an already impressive list of standard features.

GM Holden’s Director of Marketing, Philip Brook, said the special edition was a great way to celebrate the success of the recently introduced model.

”This Special Edition is a perfect example of Holden’s commitment to safety and value which will continue throughout this year. An already exceptional product has just got even better with the addition of a number of significant features including a rear view camera enhancing safety for both passengers and pedestrians,” said Mr Brook.

Based on the Captiva LX with standard features such as AWD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), curtain airbags and seven seats, the Captiva 60th Anniversary Special Edition includes the following features:

  • Seven inch driver information display & in-dash DVD player

The Captiva 60th Anniversary Special Edition is on sale 1 May and is priced from $43,990# for the petrol variant and $44,990# for the diesel variant.

In its first full year of sales, Captiva was the third best selling model in the highly competitive Medium SUV segment in 2007. The introduction of a diesel variant in March last year proved popular with customers, accounting for more than half of Captiva sales in the last three months of the year.

the one that looks the best is the ssv... the captiva has never really looked that good but now that they have put those tail lights and rims on it just looks weird... and the omega just doesnt do it for me... i mean the rims they look old...

The Omega is a basic model whereas the SSV is a bit more sporting. The Captiva is a Korean-designed piece of crap with a Holden badge (just like the nasty Holden Viva and Barina - beastly!).
