Rumors have been surfacing thick and fast prior to the 2008 Auto China show in Beijing. First Geely's GT, MPV and hatchback came through the grapevines, and today China Car Times brings us some images of what looks very similar to the Chevrolet Beat concept car.
The Chevy Beat was one of three concepts which General Motors revealed at the 2007 New York Auto Show. Later that year at the 2007 LA Auto Show, Chevrolet confirmed that the Beat would go into production but would only be sold outside North America.
The Chevrolet Beat is rumored to be the Daewoo / Chevrolet Matiz successor, but the second generation Matiz has only been on the market for 3 years.
Could the spy photos be a Chinese copy of the Beat in an attempt to beat the Beat to market in China? Chery may have a new small car up their sleeves, for instance the unnamed small car destined for Australia and New Zealand.
