Is This the New Honda NSX?
2010 Honda NSX? / LeblogAuto

2010 is the year of introduction

In Japan things are happening faster than normal. Not that Japan is slow, hardly. But these days supercars are being churned outta Japan like sake at the corner bar. Why just the other day we had the formidable Nissan GT-R coming out of the factory. Toyota is bringing a sports car of its own while its Lexus division can’t seem to make up its mind whether LF-A is a perpetual concept or a future car. Now we have the next Honda NSX being scheduled, and we have a pretty good idea of what it will look like, thanks to Best Car magazine. Expectations are that it will cost even more than the GT-R.

NSX has been testing under mule conditions in Nordschleife last summer. According to the word on the street, NSX aims to hit a time of 7 minutes 30 seconds around there, which would be a Porsche GT beater and possibly GT-R slayer too. How do they plan on achieving such a mad proposition? Well V10 is the engine size of choice, displacing a 4.5-litre engine. Said figures reach over 400kW for power. The car will be sold under the Acura name which is on its way to Japan. Will it live up to the legendary status of its predecessor like the GT-R has proven to?

God I hope not, this looks like a modified version of a Rx8. If this is the case I'll be heading over to Lexus and buying there LF-A instead. Very disappointed in Acura if this is the NSX

carcrazy1234..agree..those picture aren't suppose to be an NSX...it resembles rx-8 mazda designed car too much...scrap that design..the current NSX is way beyond that picture...but i like the specs number tough....

It looks rubbish. An over-engineered Integra at best. Surely Honda can come up with a design more distinctive. But I think this confirms the next NSX will be have a front-engined, rear-drive layout. I am already disappointed. The world doesnt need another Corvette. We need a car that is similar to the original NSX but with a larger engine to be on the same level as the Nissan GT-R, 911 Turbo, and the F430.

I dont think that this might be the coming NSX, but wouldnt be wondered if it was. Honda/Acura designing philosophy has always been conserative. They never tend to make new wowing designs.. The good thing they have is thier perfect repuation of buiding quality and performance abilities, otherwise, they wouldnt sell a single supercar. Even if we look at last year's acura concept car, it was looking futurisitc, but not as amazing as the LF-A or the GT-R!! Not even slightly.

It might be a luxurious version based on the new accord.. May be to compete with the G37.. Who knows.

Nitrous: If this were Accord-based (front-drive), it could never compete with G37, etc... more like the altime coupe... It would have to be rear drive, share platform with an S2000 replacement possibly??

It should be mid engined....also, a V10 isn't quite like Honda or Japanese performance cars at all.

maybe it isnt an nsx... but it could be there to compete with cars like the g37 coupe, becuase at the moment they dont have anything in that sector...

r u serious? how much was the old one? around 90k and it had 3.2 liter v6... and read the second paragraph where it says what type of cars it goes against on the track. now do the simple second grade type math along with descent common sense. ooo yeah....i also read a lot, probably came across in some article...

yeah I am serious. The article is only speculations. Just because someone thinks this is the next nsx, doesn't make it so. Besides it looks so different, that I could see this as Acura making a new sports car branded as something else.

nsx never went against any other car during the last few years of its production in the US. the supra and the 300zx was both gone. I can see why you would bring up the g37 but frankly, the only reason they would recreate the nsx is to dethrone the gtr or the lfa, not to bump heads with the soon to be discontinued s2000 which is in the same price range as a 350z/g37.
