Confirmation of DBS Roadster
Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO at Aston Martin, has confirmed in an interview with Dutch car magazine Autovisie that the fastest Aston Martin ever, the V12 Vantage RS in Mako Blue, will indeed go into a limited production run and will go on sale next year. This news does not come as a big shock since the 600 hp sports car is proudly presented on the Aston Martin stand at the Geneva Motor Show.
The limited edition Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS might be based on the V8 Vantage Coupe but sports a 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 600 hp, a rear spoiler which deploys automaticly at high speeds to add down force and weighs just 1,600 kg thanks to, amongst others, a carbon fibre bonnet and trunk lid.
Additionally, Dr Bez also confirmed the coming of the Aston Martin DBS Roadster. In recent DBS Roadster spy pictures we already confirmed that the roadster will have a soft-top but now we know that mid-2009 you can drive the 512 hp roadster off a dealership lot.
Previously Dr Ulrich Bez was quoted: “With our dedicated production facilities, our own engine plant, our own unique vehicle architecture and now a dedicated design studio, we have the ideal framework to bring new models such as this to market and to further establish Aston Martin as the ultimate independent luxury sports car company.”
