“Sunny days/ Everybody loves them/ Baby tell me, can you stand the rain” so sang Boyz II Men, rekindling a New Edition classic. If you love the sun like everybody then you’ll love the new SLK’s optional panoramic sunroof, spied here in close proximity. The SL incidentally has the exact same panoramic roof which folds back into the boot. It looks like the C-pillar on this car is shaped a little differently so as to accommodate the extra-delicate glass top.
It should function kinda like the Porsche Targa’s where the feeling is always one of open-top driving, yet the roof is closed, tinted for protection against excessive sunlight in places where there exists such a thing. Mercedes-Benz also had the SL in this group drive for what seems like a comparison test between SL and SLK.
