wow... the diesel engine (170hp) looks promising comparing to the petrol counterpart and the entry-level diesel. I find it quite funny when people pronounce "diesel" in American accent "de-ssle" instead of "dee-zle". Also WCF, it's "litre", not "liter".

pscs: I usually type litre but obviously depending on where you're located (UK vs. US), you might call it a liter. In this case, Audi consistently referred to the engine displacements using the liter spelling. We try to cater to all continents but either way, we're bound to get it wrong. :-) But you're right, the 170 hp diesel looks very promising!

I hear Germans speaking British English pronouncing dee/ssle; but as a New Yorker I say and primarily hear "deezle."

Nice diesel options! Are they the only 2 petrol versions??

I've read in the local AutoMotorundSport that the basic 140+hp diesel is well worth a look even if it doesn't make a rocket out of the A4. The tester even said, that with this engine the (sedan) A4 is more excellent than the 320d!

I've been to the AMI in Leipzig yesterday and got there in a A4 2.0 TDI 170hp sedan. Quite an interesting car, I think, although it's strange how you find yourself approaching a car in front of you in a line and then stare at the shape of your bling LED daytime lights. Good drive, the 170hp diesel is quick enough and a brilliant piece. Consumption is of course 0.1 litres up from the 141bhp version. At the AMI itself I later got a look at the Avant and must say that - given you have seen the A4 - 3 series and C class estates just don't cut it. Designwise. The dash in the C class in fact felt exactly like the material found in a LPG Skoda Octavia. For fifteen grand more.

I find it funny when "diesel" is pronounced with the "z" sound instead of the "s" sound. Language is alive therefore is right when it fits the need, culture, etc where it is used. I say poe-tay-toe! okay?
