The 2009 Cadillac CTS-V is set to hit showrooms this autumn, and GM has decided to release the first promotional video for this performance sedan. This car competes against the German performance sedans such as BMW M5, Mercedes E63 AMG, and Audi RS6 by packing a 6.2 liter super-charged V8 that produces over 550 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. Sounds very impressive, but we have never seen it in action until now.

The two-minute video boasts some of the best virtues of the CTS-V such as the Gen-6 Eaton Supercharger, Brembo 6-piston brakes, dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control, Tremec 6-speed auto or 6-speed manual transmission, and many more.

Featuring an Americanized bass-heavy soundtrack, we get to see some good exterior perspectives of the car with plenty of hot driving scenes. On the whole, GM’s marketing team has done a relatively convincing job this time around.

I usually would opt for a german or other european sports cars instead of an American car (and I live in the U.S.), however I just read the article about the porsche panamera, and gotta say that thing is hideous - nevermind the porsche losing out to the AM Rapide, I would take this caddy over the panamera any day.

This looks real good in photos and in videos, i'll wait till i see it and sit in it in real life until i say it is better than it's german rivals. Those german rivals are not just a big engine and brembo brakes anyone can order online and install on their car, same with the recaros. To match the quality and engineering of the RS6 it will have to make a massive leap from the previous version that was just what i stated above. Big engine, brembos, same seats as CTS(no recaros back then).

You don't honestly think this s just a car with after market add-ons do you? Cause if you do you know nothing about this car.

I only said I would choose it over the panamera, not to be confused bmw, audi, merc. However, I imagine that it will give all those guys some competition, but I do wonder about the interior finish too. Hell, i would probably take the Pontiac G8 over the panamera, YIKES!!!

i like the front, but i think the rear has to be abit re-worked, its a shame that this is the closest to reventon/f22 styling that we are going to get.
