1.8 Di with 200 hp and 1.9JTTDm with 190 hp (worlds best torque per liter 210Nm/L) are one of the greatest engines at the moment ;)

I think it looks like an all around good car, exterior and interior. My faith in italian turbo diesels is not too strong but we will have to wait and see.

Fiat developed the commonrail turbo diesel, which has transformed the automotive industry, having been copied by every other manufacturer except VW, and has been the catalyst for the worldwide shift to Diesel since the 90s. Fiat's 1.9JTTDM is outstanding on paper and having driven the SAAB 9-3, which is the first car to use the slightly downrated version of this engine, I can assure you that it drives just as well as the spec suggests. Maybe you can, therefore, elucidate us as to why you don't have faith in Italian TDs??

hhmmm, really can't decide if I like it or not. Prefer the ypsilon and thesis, two of the best looking cars in their classes- those are the ones I want in the UK.
