Any time a hot car hits the streets, it's only a matter of time before creative designers and engineers follow up with hotter versions, and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is no exception.  Callaway is the usual suspect when it comes to hot-rodded Vettes, but a Netherlands-based company called Ugur Sahin Design is responsible for this massaged Z06.

To be specific, the Corvette Z03 Concept isn't so much a modified Corvette as a 'Vette-based supercar.  Every body panel has been redesigned in carbon-fiber, and a range of engine upgrades will be offered when the Z03 goes into limited production later this year.  100 examples are planned to be built, and customers will be able to select custom paint and interior treatments in addition to the existing modifications.

The concept's radically re-penned lines give the Z03 Concept a silhouette that shows some Italian influence while retaining the Corvette's strong heritage, especially at the rear.  According to Supercars.net, the carbon-fiber body reduces weight by about 100 pounds, and the turbocharged LS7 V8 engine can be had with up to 750 horsepower.  The Corvette Z06' already-capable chassis is retained.

Founded in 2007, Ugur Sahin Design is the brainchild of Axel van Mourik and Ugur Sahin. The Corvette Z03 Concept is the first in what the company intends to be a series of high-end, high-performance limited edition vehicles based on existing cars.  Supercars.net reports that Ugur Sahin Design teamed up with suppliers such as Flybrid Systems, Modesi Design, Fischer Motorsports and Kirkham Motorsports on the Z03 Concept.  Pricing will be announced some time in March, and sales are expected to begin in late 2008.

I like this concept. Tho with practically no room to see out the rear, the engine just might as well be position to the rear of the driver.

Jeez. It's basically a carbon copy of the Ferrari Dino concept. Especially from the side profile.

Actually it looks more like the Alfa Romeo 8C Competitizone...And I would definitely choose the Alfa over this if it ever is to come out

That looks NOTHING like the 8c. It looks more like a mix of the Dino and F430 than any Alfa.

It looks VERY much like the Van Den Brink GTO, also from NL. I wouldn't be surprised if Marcel styled this.

Ugur Sahin actually created the Vandenbrink GTO as a freelance 3D visualisation assignment. Maybe this explains it??????? Cheers from his businesspartner

Tuner Vettes are typically a breed built to appeal to those who are really into Corvettes. Callaway's are a good example. The writer apparently doesn't know much about the Z06 as the most of the Z06 body panels are already carbon fiber. The front end of this vehicle is a bit plain; kind of a 70s supercar look. The back end does look more modern but not that different from different production Vettes over the years. I like Corvettes but for my money I'd look elsewhere. Corvettes are a great deal for the money but once you add the premium price for the tuner versions you may as well buy something more mainstream but more exclusive.

I don't think there is any carbon fiber in the Z06, even in the ZR1 which i saw this weekend at the Toronto Autoshow has only the roof and front/rear lips in CF. The C6 vette is mostly plastic and aluminum.
