I have to say - I'm not really into Australian cars, but WOW! It's really beautiful and aggressive in a subtle way.

In North America, the only Ford sedans we can buy are the: Ford Taurus (a Volvo), Ford Fusion (a Mazda), and North American Focus (a load of s***). Everything else is sold as a Mercury or Lincoln and are the same basic vehicle as the first two cars mentioned or horribly overpriced. Why not a cheap, RWD sedan, Ford? One we can get with a V8? This should've been remedied years ago... because now it simply won't happen.

how original, the G6, or even the G Series? Why didnt they call it the Ford Civic or Camry - it might confuse people long enough to buy one! having said that though, it does look good, I wish Ford north America would take a few lessons from their Australian and European counterparts. Have you seen the New Ford Flex? What were they thinking? The falcon would do well in north America. They could save a bundle if they axed their entire NA engineering department and used their international designs!

Could it be that the new Falcon is based on the last Gen european Ford Mondeo( i mean not the current one, the one before)? Roofline looks very similar. Overall: Nice car, but not as hot as the current Mondeo.

No way! The falcon is much bigger than the mondeo in size. The rear view of the car is quite good aswell. You can check it out at www.drive.com.au/fordfalcon2008 Ford N.America needs to learn off Australia as they can produce much better cars with a fraction of the budget. Get rid of all the useless people who do nothing. Look at what GM are doing with Holden.

And this is RWD, not FWD as all Mondeos have been.

Usually australian cars look like updated old gen versions, but I agree this one looks pretty nice, even the rear is quite well integrated and modern. However, this is friggin hilarious http://img.drive.com.au/drive_images/ Editorial/2008/02/15/XR6-Cab_L_700.jpg

Inline six turbo... umm is this somehow related to Volvo's T6 engine? One may have doubts though, transportation costs being quite high.

I don't know if this is a volvo T6, if i am not mistaken this is a 4.0L Inline 6 Turbo and the Volvo is a 3.2L.

Audi A4 headlights? Otherwise nice job, would be a competitor to the Holden Commodore.

The new Falcon looks to be pretty darn awesome...problem is that there's a lot of speculation in Oz at the moment about the Falcon's future. The ol' "it's too big/too thirsty/waning sales/save the whales" discussion perpetuated by Prius drivers. It's a real shame it isn't made in LHD for export like the Holden Commodore as this could guarantee its future. I read in a car mag a few years ago it was to do with politics within Ford global (exporting the Falcon could mean a huge cut in jobs etc. in North America/Canada). Damn shame, too, because the classic big motor/rear wheel drive combo is getting pretty rare these days...

YAWN ... you have to wonder why the Ford people claim it to be a completely new model (when practically all the underpinnings/chassis etc are the same as the old model) ... and then they style it to be barely different from the one we've been getting for the last decade ... Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm a Holden fan and even im very interested in this up coming model, anything his big always grabs my attention. Be good to see how it matches up to the VE commodore. I'm still hoping the Holden stays out on top.

this is a joke. the basic stylling is almost identical to the prev gen and the proportions are ugly. the ve has definately won this gen.

that looks ok but for some reason it looks exactly like a Subaru Legacy B4 to me...with a facelift and refreshed bumper

i'm from australia and i love cars in general. this has been a long time coming but my opinion is that this should not be compared to the holden. peopl are biased, it is a beautiful car with great curvy proportions and a nice large grill at the front which is in style at the moment. it was designed to fit in with the euro imports that we recieve like the new mondeo. people who dont know the history of the car should realise that the g series is a replacement as they are stream lining as we aussies are tending to by more mid and small sized cars due to rising fuel costs. even though it may not be as high as other countries they need to stay competitive therefore a turbo 6. hope its a big hit as it is a great looking car even tough ford USA probably wont acept it into the market. there loss

the new falcon is heaps better than the new holden. i think they should all have push button start not just the super persuit. they should start making duel cab utes like the super persuit because duel cabs are mad.
